Spare parts for heat tracing and frost heave protection
Identify the Correct Component
A replacement must suit the existing system. Pro Therm helps identify heating cables, connection components, sensors and controllers for electric heat tracing and existing frost heave protection systems. Type information and installation conditions form the basis of technical assessment.

Heating cables and assembled units
For heating cables, we need length, supply, output or resistance and operating temperatures. Finished soldered MI assemblies also require cold-lead and termination information. Replacement considers the original design; identical dimensions alone do not establish electrical or thermal suitability.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): For heating cables and assemblies outside hazardous areas, IEC/IEEE 62395-1:2024 is the international reference for general requirements and testing. Germany still lists DIN EN 62395-1:2014-10 as the current national edition.
Connections and fixing components
Connection kits, end seals and glands are assigned to the specific cable system. Ambient conditions, temperature and hazardous-area requirements may further limit selection. Fixings must suit the surface and duty. Mixed products require compatibility assessment rather than arbitrary combinations.
Choose compatible sensors and controllers
Sensor characteristics, range, supply and output function determine suitability. Controller replacement also needs assessment of alarms, limiting and switching capacity. Wiring diagrams help comparison. The same enclosure or number of terminals does not establish compatibility.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): For industrial platinum resistance sensors such as Pt100 or Pt1000, IEC 60751:2022 defines the resistance relationship and sensor requirements; the German adoption is DIN EN IEC 60751:2023-06. Wiring arrangement, accuracy and installation are selected for the measurement duty.
Support existing frost heave systems
For cold-store floor systems, we assess accessible controllers, sensors and connections together with the related circuits. Pro Therm provides supply, spare parts and maintenance. Scope for inaccessible cables beneath the slab is clarified from the existing system.
Assess alternatives technically
If an older product is unavailable, a suitable alternative may be assessed. Function, electrical data, temperature limits and connection compatibility matter. Pro Therm selects independently according to suitability, preference and budget. Availability and supply scope are confirmed for the specific enquiry.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): IEC/IEEE 60079-30-1:2025 and IEC/IEEE 60079-30-2:2025 are international references for resistance trace heating in hazardous areas. Germany still lists DIN EN 60079-30-1:2018-04 and DIN EN 60079-30-2:2018-04 as current national editions. Equipment group, permitted EPL, protection concept and evidence for the actual assembly determine suitability.
