Support heating systems
Pro Therm support heaters prevent cold bridges in cold storage and freezer rooms and reliably protect concrete and substructures from frost and moisture damage.
In cold storage and freezer rooms, concrete and steel supports often represent critical cold bridges. The significant cooling of the supports can cause the temperature to fall below the dew point locally, causing moisture to condense and penetrate adjacent components. This can result in frost damage to the concrete base, cracking, and long-term impairment of the load-bearing capacity and building fabric.
ProTherm offers electric column heating systems that are specifically designed to prevent this damage. Heating is provided either by heating mats laid in the area of the column bases or by heating systems attached directly to the column walls. This ensures uniform temperature control in the affected areas and effectively reduces the formation of cold bridges.
The column heating system is designed to suit the construction, material, ambient temperatures, and the respective climatic conditions in the cold room. Controlled heat emission keeps the concrete frost-free, prevents moisture damage, and significantly extends the service life of the components. At the same time, the operational safety of the entire system is increased.
