Heat Tracing Datasheets, Certificates and Technical Downloads
Technical Documents
Datasheets, certificates and technical documents support the selection, engineering, installation and operation of electric heat tracing. The document and revision must match the actual system and application.

A heating cable datasheet defines output characteristics, permitted temperature ranges, power supply, dimensions and installation conditions. The specific product variant governs design.
When comparing products, check the conditions under which output is stated. Temperature, voltage and product variant affect suitability. The cable, connection kit and controller may require separate documents. For an existing plant, use the type designation from its actual identification.

An approved document revision connects product and project. General brochures provide orientation but do not replace installation instructions or project-specific calculations. After modifications, drawings, wiring diagrams and certificates must still match the installed arrangement.

For a document request, state the product or circuit, language and purpose: selection, ordering, installation, testing or operation. These tasks require different documents. A data sheet describes product properties; installation instructions define permitted assembly; a project drawing assigns equipment within the plant.
Ex evidence requires the complete marking and certificate reference, including relevant conditions and associated schedules. The download page is an entry point to suitable documentation, rather than a replacement for checking the project-specific document revision.

Which documents are needed for design?
Application data, relevant product datasheets and, where required, approval, control and installation information. The exact set depends on the project.
Does one hazardous-area certificate cover every system?
No. Approval scope depends on product and application. Marking, certificate and project requirements must align.
How can I identify the correct document revision?
Check product name, variant, revision date and stated scope. Existing plants may require comparison with installed components.
What documents help identify a spare part?
Type information and wiring diagrams help identification. Heating cables also need length, voltage and output data; controllers need sensor and output information.

For an order or replacement enquiry, provide the manufacturer, full type designation, voltage and any circuit number. A datasheet, installation manual and certificate serve different purposes. Their revision and scope also need to match the installed configuration. An older drawing does not automatically remain valid after components have changed. If a document is missing, tell us the product and intended use so that the required information can be identified.

Certificates
Certificates and approvals apply to defined products and conditions. For hazardous areas, marking, area classification, temperature class and project requirements must be checked together.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): IEC/IEEE 60079-30-1:2025 and IEC/IEEE 60079-30-2:2025 are international references for resistance trace heating in hazardous areas. Germany still lists DIN EN 60079-30-1:2018-04 and DIN EN 60079-30-2:2018-04 as current national editions. Equipment group, permitted EPL, protection concept and evidence for the actual assembly determine suitability.
Engineering resources
Useful inquiry data includes geometry, fluid, temperature duty, insulation, ambient conditions, power supply and area classification. These inputs support circuit and component selection.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): The current international edition and a national adoption may have different publication dates. As checked on 14 October 2026, IEC/IEEE 62395-1 and -2 are issued in 2024, while Germany still lists DIN EN 62395-1:2014-10 and DIN EN 62395-2:2014-12 as current. Drafts are identified as drafts. The applicable edition and required evidence are established for each project.
Installation and operating information
Installation and operating documents cover routing, connections, testing and permitted use. They must correspond to the installed heating cable and components.
Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): IEC/IEEE 62395-2:2024 addresses system design, installation, maintenance and repair outside hazardous areas. DIN EN 62395-2:2014-12 remains the current German national edition. Record the agreed edition in the project documentation. IEC 60079-14:2024 addresses design, selection, installation and initial inspection of electrical Ex installations. Its German adoption is DIN EN IEC 60079-14:2026-02. It supplements general electrical-installation requirements.
