Installation quality has a direct impact on reliability and service life. Heating cables must be positioned, secured, terminated, tested and documented correctly. Valves, flanges, pumps, instruments, supports and other heat-loss areas also need correct treatment during installation.

We support plant owners, EPC contractors, engineering companies and industrial construction teams in Germany, Europe and worldwide. Mobilization, site organization and documentation are defined for the individual project. Planning an international site assignment calls for information about construction phases, installation windows, access, site safety requirements and interfaces with piping, electrical work and insulation. This allows materials, circuits and checks to be coordinated with the actual construction schedule.

Electrical checks during installation help identify damage before insulation or other construction activities limit access to the heating circuits. The test and documentation scope is integrated into the project execution plan. Useful checkpoints can include testing after termination, before thermal insulation is closed and before handover. Recording results against each circuit and installation location also supports later maintenance and fault finding.

Before mobilisation, approved drawings, available work areas and material readiness are checked against the installation sequence. Surface work and pipe testing must be sufficiently complete for the agreed activities. Outstanding interfaces are recorded with an owner and target date.

Agreed hold points are useful before work is concealed: identify and inspect the heating circuit, then release it for insulation before the next activity starts. Site changes are linked to the circuit number and drawing revision. This supports handover between our installation team, electrical contractor, insulation contractor and operator.

Where does Pro Therm install heat tracing?

Pro Therm installs industrial heat tracing in Germany, across Europe and on international project sites. The location, site conditions, scope and schedule are agreed for each project.

Does Pro Therm use its own installation teams?

Yes. Pro Therm deploys its own installation teams for electric heat tracing on international sites. Scope, location and project conditions are agreed for each assignment.

Can engineering and installation be supplied together?

Yes. Pro Therm can combine heat tracing engineering and field installation so design and real site execution remain closely connected.

What documents does the installation team need?

Approved installation and connection information, circuit identification, product instructions and applicable site requirements. The precise documentation scope is agreed for each project.

Deployment of our own installation teams includes coordination of work areas, access, material availability and permits with site management. Pipework and surface preparation, heater installation, agreed inspections and insulation closure must follow a coordinated sequence. Differences from the drawings are recorded and returned for engineering clarification. Handover identifies the installed heating circuits and includes the agreed documentation, giving the operator a usable record of the work.

We can offer thermal insulation with partner companies and coordinate it with the sequence of trades. We carry out cabling between our control panels and the power-feed and control boxes where cable routes are already available. Routing, connection points and responsibilities are agreed with the project team.

What we install

Depending on scope, our teams install heat tracing on piping systems, tanks and vessels, valves, pumps, instruments, hoses, loading systems and custom industrial equipment, including associated connection and temperature-sensing components.

At valves, flanges and pumps, installation must accommodate additional heat demand and later removal. Work follows the approved design and the instructions for the selected products. Deviations from the design are recorded before insulation conceals them.

Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): IEC/IEEE 62395-2:2024 addresses system design, installation, maintenance and repair outside hazardous areas. DIN EN 62395-2:2014-12 remains the current German national edition. Record the agreed edition in the project documentation. IEC 60079-14:2024 addresses design, selection, installation and initial inspection of electrical Ex installations. Its German adoption is DIN EN IEC 60079-14:2026-02. It supplements general electrical-installation requirements.

Testing during installation

Electrical checks during installation help identify damage before insulation or other construction activities limit access to the heating circuits. The test and documentation scope is integrated into the project execution plan. Useful checkpoints can include testing after termination, before thermal insulation is closed and before handover. Recording results against each circuit and installation location also supports later maintenance and fault finding.

Standards reference (checked 14 October 2026): IEC 60364-6:2016, including its 2017 corrigendum, provides the international installation-verification reference. For initial verification in Germany, DIN VDE 0100-600:2017-06 applies. Product testing, installation verification and thermal operating evidence are documented separately.
